7 January 2026 – Cary, North Carolina – Lincoln Technology Solutions (LTS), a leader in advanced and custom display technologies, announced today that it will present a technical paper at Embedded World Germany 2026, one of the world’s premier conferences for embedded systems and display innovation.
The accepted oral presentation, titled “High Dynamic FALD LCD Display Using Mini-LED and LOB (Light on Board) LEDs,” highlights LTS’s latest research and production insights into Full-Array Local Dimming (FALD) architectures designed to significantly enhance HDR performance in LCD displays.
The research examines how Mini-LED and LOB LED backlighting technologies improve brightness, contrast, energy efficiency, and scalability across a wide range of display sizes. The study compares edge-lit LCDs with advanced FALD implementations, including 360-zone Mini-LED and 1000-zone LOB LED systems, demonstrating how increased dimming zone density enables finer brightness control, deeper blacks, and superior HDR rendering.
The paper also explores the evolution of LED packaging from 2835 to 1212 and 0620, along with multiplexed driving techniques that increase zone density while reducing system-level power consumption and cost. Testing shows that LTS FALD LCD255 displays achieve lower power usage at up to 85% Average Picture Level (APL) by selectively illuminating only active display regions.

The scalable nature of the FALD architectures allows the same core design principles to be applied across both compact and large-format panels.
The attendees will be able to experience live demonstrations of its advanced display solutions through partner booths on the show floor.
